
A STATUS Yellow wind warning has been issued for Limerick and some surrounding counties, set to come into place this Tuesday evening (March 24).
Met Éireann warned of conditions “becoming increasingly windy with very strong and very gusty westerly winds”.
According to the weather service, potential impact from this evening’s storm include fallen trees and branches, difficult travel, large coastal waves, and potentially damaging gusts.
The warning will come into place from 5pm this Tuesday evening, lasting until midnight.
Counties impacted include Limerick, Clare, Kerry, Galway, and Mayo.
A Status Yellow gale warning has also been issued around the coast from Howth Head to Mizen Head to Bloody Foreland, and on the Irish Sea south of the Isle of Man, where Met Éireann predicts “west to northwests will reach gale force 8 or strong gale force 9”.
This warning will be in place from 2pm today until 5am tomorrow morning.
A small craft warning for all coasts across Ireland has also been issued from 5pm today until midnight on Wednesday.
