SINN Féin councillor PJ Carey has requested an update on a previous motion he raised with the Council regarding the proposed footpath linking Fairyfield to Kilmallock town.

He also asked at this month’s Cappamore-Kilmallock area meeting if this will be considered for future active travel funding.

Cllr Carey was informed that this scheme has been included as part of a number of schemes submitted to active travel in respect of scheme works from the district office.

“However, it should be noted that this proposed scheme would be at early design stage and would involve land acquisition and discussions would need to be advanced to determine if the relevant landowners would be open to facilitating proposed scheme works,” the Council explained.
