ST MUNCHIN’S College and Christian Brothers College Cork (CBC) will replay their Pinenergy Munster Schools Boys’ Junior Cup Final at Thomond Park on Wednesday next (April 15), kick-off 1.30pm.
In the drawn match, the Limerick outfit were 12-nil down at the interval, but in a remarkable second-half comeback they forced another outing between the pair.
James O’Neill’s well-tuned team scored closing-period tries courtesy of Caleb Crofton-O’Riordan and Dara Giltinane, the latter of which was converted by Jack Goode.
Munchin’s have claimed the title on seven occasions: 1970, ‘87, ‘89, ‘93, ‘98, ‘18 and ‘20 (shared with CBC).
The first winning team was captained by Tommy Goggin and coached by the legendary Seán Conneely, a native of Inis Mór (Aran Islands).
