LIMERICK City TD and Labour’s housing spokesperson Conor Sheehan published a bill that would hope to introduce a three-year eviction ban to “tackle the enormous rise in notices to quit issued in 2025”.

The Limerick TD said that “real and meaningful action is needed to protect the thousands of renters across the country who have effectively been thrown to the wolves by this Government”.

“We need this Government to commit to an eviction ban immediately without delay.”

He said that “ an eviction ban alone is not a silver bullet, there can be no doubt about that, but it is part of an armoury of emergency measures to take on the housing crisis.”
