Cian Murphy has been extremely ill since the day he was born and spent the first 21 months of hisย life in Our Ladyโs Hospital for Children in Crumlin.
Cian has an unknown diagnosis. He has a tracheostomy, is on a ventilator and also has congenitalย cardiac and endocrine issues.
Cian only returned home to Limerick in October 2013 and now, in conjunction with the Limerickย Regional hospital, is doing very well since his return. According to his mum Orla โHe has had aย few blips since he came home but thankfully he is now doing great, even starting pre school inย January. He is our miracle little man and we are very proud of him.โ
So, when Cianโs SNA (Special Needs Assistant) Majella contacted Share A Dream to see if they could make Cianโs 3rd birthday aย very special day with a visit from their magical Dream Machine, they immediately said they would love to.
Last Saturday January 17 the magical Dream Machine arrived to his home in Rhebogue along withย Woody, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse followed by Cian’s cousins and friends.ย After Cian and all his friends enjoyed the birthday party inside his home with all the charactersย they then spent an hour enjoying the magic that is the โDreamย Machine.โ
โWe work with hundreds of very special children like Cian all over Ireland and itโs such a wonderfulย privilege for our volunteers to be part of something so special and sharing a wonderful dream withย absolute angelsโ, said Shay Kinsella, founder of Share A Dream.
Mum Orla said: โThank you so much Share A Dream for all the happyย memories you gave us. Cian and all the family absolutely loved it! Itโs wonderful the joy Share A Dream bring to so many children like our little Cian. Thank you.โ
