ADAM English and Chris Thomas of Limerick Senior Hurling Champions Doon both scored for Galway Boston during last weekend’s defeat, 1-30 to 1-17, of Fr Tom Burkes in the Northeast Senior Championship Final in Canton.
English hit the opening point, while defender Thomas did likewise in the closing half.
The pair are among several from around who have opted for a spell in the United States before the commencement of the local championship over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Among the impressive performers for Burkes were Mark Quinlan (Garryspillane), Jimmy Quilty (Blackrock), and Kilmallockโs Shane OโBrien, scorer of 1-4.
Boston led 1-17 to 0-10 at the interval.
The gameโs outstanding individual was Shane Meehan of Clare.
Later in the month, the likes of Cathal OโNeill (Crecora/Manister) and Effinโs Patrick OโDonovan will be involved in San Francisco.
