
A LATE fight back from Young Munster saw them claim two points in a 40-35 loss to Lansdowne at Tom Clifford Park.
Two late tries from Orin Burke and Arron Roulston and both converted by Kelvin Langan, saved the home side a heavy defeat.
Hubert Gilvarry, Liam McMahon and Burke were Munster’s other try scorers. Shane O’Leary added two conversions and Langan one.
In 1B, Garryowen’s recent good run ended at Stradbrook, where they lost 18-15 to Blackrock College.
In 2A, Shannon lost away to Dungannon 22-14.
Jordan Prenderville scored a try for Shannon and Jamie Gavin kicked three penalties.
Old Crescent also lost on the road, to M.U. Barnhall 10-7. John Toland scored Crescent’s try and Jeff Williams converted.
In 2B, UL Bohemian picked up maximum points with a 53-17 home win over Rainey.
Donnacha O’Callaghan scored three tries for the winners, and Sean Quirke, Simon Staunton, Killian Dineen, Paul Clancy and Joe Johnson were the other try scorers. Oisin Fagan kicked five conversions and a penalty.
Meanwhile, Thomond remain top of Division 2C after they recorded another 35-25 maximum points victory away at Malahide.
Evan Maher scored three of Thomond’s five tries, with Colin Slater and Ryain Ahern getting one each, Evan Cusack kicked two penalties and two conversions.
Bruff suffered a 37-7 away defeat at Ballyclare.
In the Women’s All-Ireland League, champions UL Bohemian made the short trip to Clare and recorded a 77-0 victory over Ennis.
Alana McInerney scored four of the Bohs 13 tries and the others came from Éabha Nic Dhonnacha (3), Clodagh O’Halloran, Catriona Finn, Aoife Corey, Beth Buttimer, Kate Flannery and Louise Carter.
Finn also kicked six conversions.
