
LIMERICK Celtics enjoyed a comfortable Men’s Super League victory over UCC Demons. It was a tie in which Celtics led by as much as 33 points.
A strong final quarter for the struggling Demons only managed to reduce the final deficit to 18 in a 90-72 scoreline.
For Celtics, they will feel it is a much improved performance after a tough few weeks with AJ Williams and Abdul Wurie both having 20+ point performances, with Eoghan Donaghy bouncing back with 15 points, including 11 in the opening period of the game.
In Division One, an inspired 31-point performance from Alex Carlisle and Ryan Leonard’s second double-double of the season handed Limerick Sport Eagles an 84-75 victory at Drogheda Wolves.
On the Women’s front, Celtics were 67-61 Division One winners against Dublin Raiders at a raucous Crescent College.
It was an outing in which guards Sydney Richards and Aoife Morrissey were both outstanding.
Quality scores came from many, including Sydney Richards, Amy Buckley, Sabhbh Edwards-Murphy, Madelyn Hartigan, Aisling Lordan and Katie Black.
Elsewhere, Limerick Sport Huskies registered a great home 84-71 win against Templeogue.
