Elderly man airlifted in rescue

A 75-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after being marooned in a field in Co Clare.

A neighbour contacted gardai when he became concerned for the missing man yesterday evening.

The man had been left feeding cattle at about 3pm, but when the neighbour returned to check on him he could not find him.

It is believed the man had fallen in a field near Ballymacloon in Quin.
