First dyspraxia conference and camp at LIT

THE first Dyspraxia Awareness Conference and awareness camp for children and teenagers is to be held in LIT this Saturday October 1 from 8.30am to 6pm.
The aim of the event is to provide an insight into dyspraxia from a medical and educational perspective, and to provide practical solutions to the difficulties encountered by children with dyspraxia.

The conference will feature keynote speakers and world-renowned expert on dyspraxia, Professor Amanda Kirby from the Discovery Centre, University of Wales.
Dyspraxia affects approximately 10% of children in Ireland and is an impairment of the organisation of movement, which can lead to problems with co-ordination, fine motor skills, language, thought and perception.
