Rugby – Munster lose to Leicester Tigers at Thomond Park

Screen Shot 2015-12-12 at 21.39.30MUNSTER suffered a 31-19 loss to Leicester Tigers tonight in Thomond Park in round 3 of the Champions Cup. First half tries from Goneva and Fitzgerald had Leicester leading 18-6 at the break.

Munster did reply early in the second half, with a five pointer from Conor Murray, but 18-14 was as close as the hosts got to the impressive Tigers outfit.

A break away try from Ben Youngs followed up by two penalties from Bell left Leicester chasing a bonus point win, with Munster struggling to keep the score down.

The return fixture next Sunday evening in Welford Road will now be a must win for Munster should they have any hope of reaching the last eight.
