Three new councillors co-opted on to Limerick City and County Council

THREE new councillors have been co-opted on to Limerick City and County Council at a special meeting of the Council held this afternoon in County Hall.

Fianna Fáil’s Joe Pond from Annacotty filled the casual vacancy on the Council consequent on the resignation of Cllr Shane Clifford.

Vivienne Crowley (FF) from Westfield Park filled the casual vacancy on the Council consequent on the death of her father, Cllr Joe Crowley.

Adam Teskey, Killeheen, Reens, Ardagh, County Limerick (Fine Gael) filled the casual vacancy on the Council consequent on the election of Cllr Tom Neville to Dáil Eireann.

Meanwhile, Sinn Fein councillor Malachy McCreesh called for the filling of the casual vacancy on the Council consequent on the election of Cllr Maurice Quinlivan to Dáil Eireann to be deferred until after their convention this weekend.
