LIAM Daly is to conduct Summer Proms at UCH this Saturday May 7 at 8pm. Look forward to The University of Limerick Orchestra playing a mix of trad, both Ulster Scot and Irish, and classical and opera music.
From PRO Valerie Gunning, Limerick Post hears of a programme featuring the magic of Grieg’s ‘Peer Gynt Suite No. 1’, no coincidence that it is a Junior Certificate imperative.
The orchestra will also perform Mendelsshon’s evocative ‘Hebrides’ (Overture) and Verdi’s ‘La Forza Del Destino’ (Overture).
The second half of the concert is a selection of Irish traditional dance music and Ulster Scots’ music arranged for orchestra. This will feature guest musicians from the Mid Ulster Pipes and Drums. Book at www.uch.ie
