Shots fired at house in Limerick estate

gardai greyGARDAI at Henry Street in Limerick are investigating an incident where shots were fired at a house in Glenbrook, Old Singland Road, overnight on Tuesday.

Shortly after midnight, during the early hours of Tuesday morning, a number of shots were fired through the front sitting room window and the front door of a house at Glenbrook.

Gardai say that fortunately no one was injured during the gun attack, despite the house being occupied at the time.

It has been described as “a callous and indiscriminate act putting lives at risk.”

An Incident Room has been set up at Henry Street Garda Station.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to this incident or anyone that may have see any suspicious activity to contact them at Henry Street 061 212400 or 1800 666 111.

Sgt Justin McCarthy of the Crime Prevention Unit has asked the public for their help.

“Did you see a car or cars entering or leaving that estate from Bloodmill Road, perhaps at speed, either before or after midnight last Monday or did you notice any suspicious activity?”
