Trad gig led by concertina

Anne Kirrane with Garry O’Briain and champion fiddler, Ronan Greene

FRIARS’ GATE has released its lively programme details for September, with music, film, visual art, theatre and Culture Night Friday September 22 all pencilled in.

Look to Friday September 8 for a traditional Irish music gig led by singer and concertina player, Ann Kirrane. She is daughter to the legendary Chris Droney, also concertina wild and plays in the same style as her father.

From venue’s manager Caoimhe Reidy:

“These days, her voice is her main instrument. She was born to sing. Joining Ann will be Garry O’Briain, a sought after accompanist, record producer and member of Buttons & Bows and Boys of the Lough, and Ronan Greene, 2008 senior fiddle champion.”

Book in advance on website www.friarsgate.ie for this Kilmallock gig.
