Munster maul Montauban

-

Munster have secured a home quarter final Heineken Cup match against Welsh opposition in the form of the Ospreys following a four try winning bonus point victory away to Montauban in the south of France by a score-line of 13-39 in favour of the reigning champions.

Two tries from both Liefimi Mafi and Barry Murphy and a first half line break from scrum half Tomas O Leary lifted a Munster performance to take them beyond contention from their French counterparts.

Much was said about the effect that the delayed game would have on the professional Munster outfit, but the men in red were composed and true to form in securing the victory and a home quarter final berth.

The province now breaks for the internatiional six nations series and will resume the Heineken cup challenge in April.
