Laurel Hill and Glenstal in top 10

TWO LIMERICK schools have been named in the top 10 in The Sunday Times list of the top 400 secondary schools in the country.

Glenstal Abbey made number six on the list, while Laurel Hill achieved the number nine ranking.

Glenstal Abbey boarding school for boys, adjacent to Glenstal monastery, has a population of 221 pupils, with 100 percent of students advancing to third level education, according to the survey.

Laurel Hill Colaiste FCJ girls school has a current population of 401 student, with 89.4 percent going on to third level.

Other Limerick Schools to make the list were Castletroy College, Newtown; Ardscoil Ris, North Circular Road; St. Ita’s College, Abbeyfeale; Scoil Mhuire agus Ide, Newcastle West; Crescent Comprehensive College, Dooradoyle and both St. Joseph’s Schools in Abbeyfeale and Doon.
