Man dies in hit-and-run

A 40-year-old man who was struck by a car in County Limerick in the early hours of Sunday morning has died from his injuries.

The accident happened on Main Street, Castleconnell at about 2.15am.

The victim has been named locally as Tom O’Shea, from Derryhasna, Castleconnell.

He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
