The pleasure of working out

It’s not often (more like never) that I’d volunteer to work on a Bank Holiday Monday morning, but sometimes the word “work” can be misleading, especially when this particular “work” was to involve much relaxation. So, last weekend, on Bank Holiday Monday morning, I made my way to the Maldron Hotel having undertaken the arduous task of reporting on Club Vitae, the Health and Fitness Club at the hotel.

The Maldron is conveniently located just off the Southern ring road and only five minutes drive from Limerick City centre. Club Vitae is the new health and fitness club at the hotel that caters for first time exercisers, to gym fanatics and competitive athletes too, as well as those that just feel the need for an occasional pampering. The facilities include a 20m Swimming Pool, with a second dedicated Children’s Pool, and Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Room. There is also a fully equipped Gymnasium, that offers complimentary personal exercise programmes, and it has a stretch and abs area as well as an Aerobics Studio, and health and beauty treatment rooms. The facility is fully air-conditioned and patrons can avail of the complimentary car park and complimentary wi-fi internet access.

Club Vitae is open from 7am to 10pm on weekdays, and 8am to 9pm on weekends and bank holidays. Children’s hours are from 9am to 7pm. There is a full schedule of classes taking place also with Spinning, Aqua Aerobics, Combination classes and Swim Lessons for both adults and children, and more. Some of the classes are free to members and on Saturdays and Sundays there are special children’s times with swim lessons from 11am to 11.45 on Saturday morning and Splash Mania between 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Sunday’s Splash Mania is from 10am to 12 noon.

For more details contact 061 436153 or email limerick@clubvitae.ie. Current offers on membership at Club Vitae include €365 annual membership if paid in full, €250 annual student, €175 for nine month’s teacher membership, corporate, youth, over 50s and other memberships also available.
