The environment office of the council told the Limerick Post that over two weekends in January, the council will take the trees and shred them with the mulch being used in Limerick city parks.

The 2010 Christmas tree shredding service will operate at Watchouse Cross on Thursday January 7 between 9am and 3pm and on Friday January 15 also between 9am and 3pm.

The service will be available at Childers Road, Rosbrien, near Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Friday January 8 and Saturday January 16 between 9am and 3pm.

The Park Road depot will host the service on Saturday January 9 between 9am and 3pm also.
