Visitors prohibited at Regional hospital

A TOTAL ban has been put in place on visits to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital after an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

It is understood there are now six patients in three wards who are suffering from the bug.

Visiting is currently permitted only in the case of critically ill patients and paediatrics.

The hospital says children under the age of 14 should not visit the hospital and people should only visit the Emergency Department if absolutely necessary.

Outpatient, day care services and routine hospital admissions are not affected by the ban.
