Fun theme park returns to Limerick

DURING the current recession, the customer’s priority is value as well as quality. It’s no wonder that Funderland, Ireland’s largest funfair, is doing great business. With the introduction of new ‘one-price-unlimited-rides offer’, customers will be thrilled when this travelling theme park opens at Groody Road on Thursday May 27 for a long fortnight.

First launched in 1975 at the RDS in Dublin, Funderland is promoted by Limerick company William Bird Sales Ltd. The Bird family’s history in the funfair business stretches over seven decades and the company was delighted to return to the city in 2009 when new grounds were located at Groody Road.

Funderland now offers four hours of unlimited fun on terrific Funderland rides for €19.95. Junior thrillseekers under 1.1 metres in height are discounted to €12.95 and a family of four is just €59.95 for the four hours of adventure.

The Limerick event will take place at Groody Road from Thursday May 27 to Sunday June 13. Some of Europe’s top thrill rides will be part of the event including the Take Off, Jungle River, the power Shot Bungee and Jubilee Big Wheel. With lots of kiddie rides and side stalls with games of skill and chance, Funderland will offer great entertainment for every age group.
