The Ger Lawlor coached side will have it all to go against Dr Crokes of Kerry, who many people would have as favourites for the All Ireland crown this season.
Monaleen qualified for the Munster championship with a county final win over Adare, two weekends ago. The City side are as strong a Limerick club side as you could imagine. The red and whites are blessed with young talent all over the field. Eoin Keating, Brian Geary, Muiris Gavin and Mike Crowley are household names to many, but players such as Peter King, Barry Fitzpatrick and Jason O Brien are adding a real edge to the Limerick champions.
Their opponents were inspired to a Kerry county title by Colm Cooper. The Gooch led Dr Crokes to victory over Austin Stacks in the Kerry SFC final, hitting some classy scores in the 1-15 to 0-11 victory.
With strength in the kingdom side too, this game is really going to be a thrilling encounter.
Expected Monaleen Team:
Donal O Sullivan, Darren Bourke, Peter King, Finbarr Nash, Eoin Keating, Barry Fitzpatrick, Jack Hoare, Brian Geary, Paul Kinnerk, Peter Russell, Luke Kavanagh, Cormac Joyce Power, Muiris Gavin, Jason O Brien, Mike Crowley.
