Night of the Stars looks radiant

WHERE to find a royal variety of performance to delight and excite us, ranging from Leanne Moore to Limerick Leprechauns, from jazz prodigy Andreas Varady to soprano Sinead O’Brien? Circle in magician Steve Spade, comedian Myles Breen, drag queen Sheila Fitzpatrick and several dancing troupes  – Flawless, Irish Flame Girls and dancers Ashlea Rondozai and Ewa Kotula for entertainment.

Night of the Stars for 2011 is the show and the venue to note is South Court Hotel on Wednesday January 26 at 8pm. This is the third annual  Night of the Stars and the format this year is straightforward concert (without award competition) of professional and amateur showbiz talent that rocks.
Mike O’Connor is experienced producer of the annual gig for charity. 2011’s beneficiary is Brothers of Charity in Bawnmore and Mike launched news of all in Punch’s Hotel at the weekend: “We are delighted to have a large number of very talented acts confirmed for our show which will be presented by Spin South-West’s Michelle McMahon and Limerick’s own Mr World Kamal Ibhrahim”.
Michelle and Kamal are long-standing supporters and past participants will remind us of their gift on stage. Marion Kelly won Night of Stars 2 with her incredible voice and shy presence; Paul O’Connor is set for gold with lounge ‘swing’ standards; contortionist Darragh Merritt now features in national talent shows and Raquel Rocca is a recording star.
Mike has also booked music by bands TRAFFIC and If Memory Serves. The charity concert sponsors are PJR Cleaning Services, Bus Eireann and South Court Hotel.
Some Limerick dignitaries such as Mayor Maria  Byrne will grace the South Court and a huge turn out is anticipated. Tickets priced at €12 are available in advance from Future Sound & Vision, Upper Mulgrave Street and on the door on Wednesday 26.
