Murder enquiry launched in Limerick city

Gardai at Mayorstone have launched a murder investigation in connection with the death of a 71-year-old man at a house in St Munchin’s St, St Mary’s Park in the city on Monday evening.

The remains were removed from the scene after a technical examination and a post mortem was carried out at the Mid Western Regional Hospital earlier this Tuesday.

 

Gardai have appealed for witnesses or any members of the public who can offer information in connection with the discovery.

The deceased man has been named locally as James Boyce 71 years.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Boyce between the early hours of Saturday morning (5/3/11) and late Monday evening (7/3/11), or who have may information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Garda incident room at Mayorstone Garda Station 061-456989, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
