Traffic at Shannon down 17.2% for February

TRAFFIC for commercial flights at Shannon Airport was down 17.2% in February, according to figures from the Irish Aviation Authority.
This is compared to a drop of 23.8% in January and a drop of 6.5% in February of last year.
Commenting on the February statistics, Eamonn Brennan, chief executive, IAA, said;

 

“There is reason to be optimistic and the overall trend for 2011 is expected to show positive growth.
“Indeed, six of Ireland’s top 10 airport pairs showed positive growth in February when compared to the same period last year”.
