SATURDAY afternoon at 2pm is the throw in for the All Ireland Colleges Hurling Final at Semple Stadium. The tie between Limerick’s Ard Scoil Ris and Kilkenny’s St Kieran’s is the clash everyone has been looking forward to. A repeat of last year’s final, which St Kieran’s won, will see the two form sides of the year clashing at the home of hurling.
The final repeat is a chance for Ard Scoil to avenge last season’s defeat to the famous black and whites of St Kieran’s.

In fact this weekend, Ard Scoil Ris are bidding for their first Croke Cup, while it has been 44 years since the renowned trophy last resided in the Limerick. CBS Sexton Street being the last Limerick side to lift the title in 1967.
Speaking after Ard Scoil’s semi final win over Castlecomer, Ard Scoil coach and Limerick hurler Niall Moran spoke of the desire to set the record straight from last year.
“We wanted to get back into an All-Ireland final and we didn’t care who we were playing, but for a lot of these guys they want to finish off a job that was left undone up in Thurles last year”.
Well, they do not have long to wait now. For those travelling, the game is expected to be well attended, so please travel early.
