Three to face trial over drugs haul

40-YEAR-OLD, John McCarthy of Cliona Park, together with 20-year-old James O’Keefe of Moylish Crescent and 18-year-old Adam Llewllyn of Craeval Park, Moyross, have been sent forward for trial to Limerick Circuit Court on charges in connection with a heroin seizure in October last year. The three men, who were remanded on continuing bail of an independent surety of €10,000 each, were served with the books of evidence in the case.

The case relates to the seizure of €145,000 worth of the drug that was recovered at Castlepark Estate, Ballygrennan, Co. Clare on October 15 last year.
The three each face charges of possession of the heroin for sale or supply contrary to Section 15 A of the Drug Trafficking Act.
Detective Garda Patrick Hogan served the four volume book of evidence to each of the men and advised that the DPP has consented to the matter being sent forward for trial at Limerick Circuit Court. To complete the order and other matters, the three will appear again this week before Limerick District Court.
