Choke Comedy
IN April Choke did a comedy improv gig in every county in Ireland in just 3.2 days. This charity challenge raised funds and awareness for Headstrong the youth mental health charity. Choke Comedy return to the Loft Venue Thursday May 26

 

Rory Gallagher
“Rory never played it the same way twice, and neither do we !” says lead guitarist and vocalist Chris Stuckey of Rory Gallagher tribute band, Shinkicker. According to the band, Shinkicker perform the music of Rory Gallagher in an “honest and respectful tribute full of the dynamic spirit and musical prowess that was all encompassing in Rory’s live performances”. Shinkicker plays Foleys, Sarsfield Street on Friday May 27.

Pop-Up Playhouse
The Pop-up Playhouse is a mobile and portable 300 capacity inflatable venue. The Playhouse will host two days of music at the Killaloe GAA Field, Killaloe from Friday May 27 featuring Size 2 Shoes, Hunka Burning Love and The Killaloe/Ballina Gospel Choir starting at 8pm.  On Saturday May 28 The Playhouse will feature Juliet Turner & John Spillane from 9pm. Taking inspiration from BBC’s ‘Later Live with Jools Holland’ the acts will perform in the round on four stages.

The Ballet Ruse
Muirne Bloomer and Emma O’Kane have performed for over ten years with the multi-award winning CoisCéim Dance Theatre and first presented  The Ballet Ruse at Electric Picnic in 2009. This witty take on the pitfalls and pressures of ballet plays at Belltable Arts Centre on Wednesday June 1 and Thursday June 2.

Esperovera
FOR those not going to Primavera this weekend Esperovera promises to bring “the best of Barcelona to Limerick city for one night”. The night will kick off with a flamenco guitarist to accompany the paella and sangria. Featuring comedy from Nostril Shorts, Mark O’Connor and metal band Shardbourne the event is free and happening at Cobblestone Joes this Thursday May 26.

The Devil in Music
THE debut album from Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters will be launched this Saturday May 28 with special guests The Hot Sprockets and Vertigo Smyth. The new album ‘The Devil in Music’ sees the band deliver on the promise shown with previous singles ‘Thread The Needle and ‘Hatch Sixteen’. The band tells tales from the dark side of life in its trademark gravel voiced swamp blues style. Catch them this Saturday in Dolan’s.
