Strong line up for Doonbeg Festival

DOONBEG Jazz Festival should be the most fun anyone can have over the June bank holiday weekend. From Friday June 3 to Monday 6, at least 28 live band and jazz performances will take place in this homely Clare village for the 12th annual festival. Arrive any time and don’t expect to leave until late as the following acts are lined up for the best in spontaneous entertainment:
* East Coast Jazz Band from Arklow. This lively band will be performing a great set with a mix of popular jazz styles.

* Jamaican Ska band SKAZZ from County Clare will be skanking through the weekend,with special guests; Rene van der Reijden and Tony ‘2 Tone’ Reece. Skazz has played Electric Picnic, Cork Jazz, Festival Valle Luna, Spain,  Ska Splash, Ballydehob Jazz and many more!!
* Les and Sam Clague from Clonakilty have performed in Belgium, Holland, France and England, as well as regularly playing venues all over Ireland. Their duelling acoustic guitars combine original compositions with gypsy jazz, fingerstyle and flamenco standards.
* It’s Dixie all the way with Downtown Jazzband from Limerick. This seven piece band have played the Cork Jazz, The Cuckoo Box and many events in the Limerick area.
* Jazzology is a four-piece from Limerick, formed in 2002 that will thrill with a great set of popular jazz standards and arrangements.
* Ace Minsky Swingband from Clare is an entertaining 4-piece with a wide and varied set list of swing and jazz.
* Tralee’s The Charms bring with them classy, smooth, swing jazz with a programme of standards from 1920’s through to the ‘60’s.
* The Kind of Blues from  Limerick will be playing us a great selection of jazz and blues from their extensive programme. This four-piece band regularly play around the county, and guarantee a great evening of entertainment.
