A LOCAL choir had plenty to sing about after winning a prestigious trophy at the Cork Choral Festival.
The Cratloe National School Choir were awarded with the Irish Federation of Musicians Trophy for their performance of InÃon a PhalaitÃnigh – based on the story of the Palatines who came to Ireland in 1709 from Germany, settling in Rathkeale, Ardpatrick, and Ballyseedy, among other places.
The group also came second in the primary schools competition at this year’s awards.
The choir was led by musical director Bernadette Kennedy.
