As you can see from the table pictured here, Limerick are fourth, but they are only seven points off of the top. This of course, may seem like a lot, but new signings Joe Gamble, Denis Behan and Shaun Kelly have yet to make their debuts for the club. The future is Superblue.
Aside from allowing the new signings to bed in, the bye week is also a free week of recovery for Limerick’s injured players.
James O’Brien, (hernia), Shane Tracey (knee) and Steve O’Flynn (knee) are all expected back in less than four weeks. The season ending injuries of Brian O’Callaghan (knee) and Gary Sheehan (knee) are a blow, but Limerick’s squad looks strong enough now, that when those two players return, Limerick could be in the Premier Division.
As mentioned, Limerick FC play their next Airtricity League game away to Athlone Town on Sat July 16th, KO 7.30pm in Lisseywoolen, Athlone. Limerick FC play their next home Airtricity game against Monaghan Utd on July 22nd KO 7.45pm in Jackman Park
