A LIMERICK school reached the semi-finals of the Concern School debates.

Students from Ardscoil Mhuire made it to the final four team of the all-island competition out of more than 170 entrants.

Ardscoil Mhuire faced Antrim school and previous all-island debate winners, Cross and Passion College, in the semi-finals in Dublin on Wednesday April 15 on the motion that ‘Western democracy is purely symbolic’.

The students from Ardscoil Mhuire proposed the motion. However it was their opponents, Cross and Passion, that came out on top on the night.
