Maighread to play Bump Festival

NOW based in London, Limerick born electro pop artist Maighread has just released a new video and will play at Bump Festival this weekend.

Maighread recently joined up with electro duo Disco Damage. The electro stomper ‘In The Beginning’ is the first fruits of this collaboration on Aztec Records. Shot in London, the video for the track was made by Diz.Co and is available on You Tube, (http://www.youtube.com/user/maighreadsings) as are her previous suite of high quality visuals that Maighread regularly employs to compliment her music.

Limerick Post chatted to Maighread about ‘In the Beginning’ and the upcoming gig.
Limerick Post: Where can fans find the current single?
Maighread: “The EP, ‘In the Beginning’ has been released by Aztec Records and is also available on iTunes.  Aztec are an independent label here in London, I really like the other artists involved in the label, mostly electro, pop and dance artists, so I’m happy to be under their umbrella for this release. Also on the EP is a remix by TNTT which I’m loving.”
LP: Are you looking forward to your Bump Festival appearance?
Maighread: “Yes, I am really looking forward to it. I had such a good response when I played my own show in Limerick last November, so I’m very happy to be playing at home again and at a festival with such a good line-up. For Bump I will be performing all of my electro dance tracks. I’ve being performing them in clubs here in London, and they work well for a party atmosphere which I’m expecting Bump to have.”
LP: Do you enjoy the “suncream & wellies” unpredicability of Irish Festival gigs?
Maighread: “You really got to go with the flow when it comes to dealing with the weather at any festival. I’ll be bringing wellies and suncream to cover all possibilities; I’m hoping the sun will shine though.”
LP: What is the most important item in your Festival Survival Kit?
Maighread: “4 must haves – Sunglasses, torch, hip flask and wet wipes.”
Maighread is writing a lot of new material at the moment. Progress is well under way towards having an album’s worth of music ready soon. Finding a good producer and getting studio time is next on the agenda for Maighread. In the meantime you can see her perform at BUMP Muzik Festival this Saturday July 23.
