OOAL curate 12-Hour music marathon

LOCAL record label Out On A Limb Records is the creative force behind a 12-hour musical marathon will feature artists from the label’s rosters along with invited guests happening this Saturday August 6. OOAL was set up in the summer of 2003 with the release of “Is it OK to be loud, Jesus?”, the debut album from local band giveamanakick. Since then the label has released records from the likes of Crayonsmith, Hooray For Humans, Rest, Ten Past Seven, Waiting Room  and windings.

This one day event features the cream of Limerick’s very healthy music scene, along with some of the labels favourite acts from around the country. Ciarán Ryan from OOAL says, “Everyone we wanted to play was available which was a great boost. The idea I suppose is to create a kind of festival vibe over the day with bands, djs, food, etc. The big difference is that it is all indoors and there are no portaloos.”
Expect folk, indie rock, metal, electronica, hip-hop, and even comedy on the day!  The line-up includes Rest, Windings, Last Days of Death Country, Crayonsmith, Squarehead, Mark O’Connor, Shardborne, Toby Kaar, Vertigo Smyth, Owensie, Fow Jaw Bounty Hunters, MyNameIsJohn, Mahlon Sweet Field, Peter Delaney, Nostril Shorts, We Come In Pieces, Baby Blue Eyes, Capital Joy, Hey Enemy and OOAL DJs. Much of the OOAL back catalogue will be available to buy at reasonable prices on the day. As for the plans for the next few months at the OOAL label, Ciarán says, “Ten Past Seven are literally just back from France with new recordings which we’ll be putting out very soon. Other than that, we’ve a split 7” coming quite soon, and a few albums etc. I’d be jinxing things by getting any bit specific as to what is coming out and when though.”
The event happens both in Dolan’s Warehouse and Upstairs venues.
