SINN Féin councillor PJ Carey has called for necessary safety measures to be designed and funding streams identified at the crossing between the soccer and GAA pitches in Knockainey.
In response to Cllr Carey, Limerick Council revealed that it is currently carrying out works as part of an approved planning application at this location.
“Part of these works include for the installation of raised kerbs and road markings for the purpose of parking and traffic calming at this location, adjacent to both the GAA grounds and soccer pitches in Knockainey,” the Council explained.
