Deloitte in association with Irish Life Corporate Business, has this week announced that three Limerick based companies, are in the running to be listed among Ireland’s Best Managed Companies. Now in its fourth year, the Best Managed Companies Awards will recognise indigenous Irish companies across the island of Ireland which are operating at the highest levels of business performance.
The three companies are: Mowlam Healthcare, JH ROCHE & SONS LTD and Begleys Simply Fresh.
The companies are through to the second phase of the competition, where they will demonstrate to the judging panel how their organisations are meeting their strategic objectives and adding value to their businesses. During this process, the companies will work closely with coaches from Deloitte and Irish Life Corporate Business and will receive customised feedback, thereby benefiting from the valuable business advice and expertise.
Kevin Sheehan, Partner, Deloitte said: “We are delighted with the calibre of companies who are through to the final phase of the competition. As we engage more and more with the companies in phase II of the programme, we are enthused and impressed by the level of commitment, innovation and dedication that management teams are demonstrating. Yes, we know that the marketplace for many of the applicant companies remains turbulent and challenging, but it is so refreshing and encouraging to see the positivity that abounds in these Irish companies. The competition is intense, and we are looking forward to see who goes on to become this year’s Best Managed Companies.”
In July, a survey of the companies who have been recognised as Best Managed Companies to date emphasised the positive sentiment that currently exists among indigenous Irish companies. 71% indicated that they plan to recruit in the current year. In addition, 67% of respondents feel more confident about the outlook for their companies compared to 12 months ago.
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced in March 2012.
