LOCALLY based Urban Barbell Powerlifting Club was named overall winner at the recent National Junior Championships, while its members secured podium finishes across a range of categories.
“It was a significant achievement for our athletes and the club as a whole. We are also the first club outside of Dublin to achieve this national recognition,” said club member Emma Keyes.
The club will host upcoming strongwoman and powerlifting competitions in August involving athletes from Limerick and across the country, with growing participation in strength sports locally, particularly among young people and women.
