Think laser hair removal this Autumn

Finally, there is a benefit to being ‘pale and interesting’! As our tans –whether real or fake– have begun to fade, the summer dresses have been packed away, and tights and winter boots are taking pride of place, it is good to know that this is actually the perfect time to book your laser hair removal so you can be fully hair-free for next summer.

Imagine being able to throw away the razor for once and for all, no longer having to withstand nicks and cuts or worry about unshaven legs or underarms? And don’t even get us started on horrendously strong-smelling depilatory creams or think about our next wince-inducing bikini wax! Ladies, de-fuzzing is needlessly the most uncomfortable and time-consuming job we undertake, and so regularly too. As laser hair removal experts, Therapie Clinic tells us we spend, on average, three months of our lives getting rid of unwanted hair… How utterly insane!
Why not join the 200,000 people who have had laser hair removal at one of Ireland’s Therapie Clinics and say a collective ‘good bye razor and hello laser!’
Therapie has been in business for over 11 years now, with clinics in Limerick (41 Roches Street), Dublin, Cork, Galway, Waterford, Mullingar, Belfast and Derry. They are very much recognised as the leaders in the industry, using the most advanced technology in the world, using medical-grade lasers as opposed to IPL, which is commonly used elsewhere. Medical-grade lasers mean superior results, less treatment sessions and most importantly of all, patient safety.
Therapie Clinic also offers a price match guarantee; an easy payment plan, which means you can spread out the cost of your treatment and also a free trial, to ensure you are compatible with laser. “At Therapie Clinic our ethos is very much about delivering a superior service and attention, and most importantly delivering results, at a fair and affordable price,” said Clinic Manager, Gabbi Perrozzi.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL – THE FACTS
Laser hair removal is the most effective treatment available to remove unwanted hair.
Many clinics offer IPL (intense pulse light) as mentioned, which is technically not laser at all. Therapie Clinic uses the Candela Alexandrite and Soprano XL BLU machines, which are medical-grade lasers and the most precise laser machines in the world. Medical-grade laser energy consists of a very specific type of light wave, the energy travels in a straight line making it very accurate and precise. IPL on the other hand uses a less intense, broader spectrum of light (i.e. it’s broken up), which means a much less-effective treatment, slower results and more sessions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The medical-grade laser emits wavelengths of light, which are absorbed by the pigment in the hair (melanin). If the surrounding skin is relatively light compared to the colour of the hair, then the entire energy of the laser will be concentrated in the hair shaft, effectively destroying it without affecting the skin or follicle. This is why laser hair removal works best on light skin and dark coarse hair, which has the most pigment.
This is also why now is the time to have laser hair removal – paler skin means the laser can pick up the pigment in the hair more easily. Also, UVB rays are getting weaker and less harmful which means the skin can recover much better and safely between each session.
