John Galvin says ‘not to panic’

-

LIMERICK’s National Football league defeat to Waterford last week has all but confined them to Division four for next season.
Fans will be worried that Limerick have not progressed this season, but Limerick’s talisman midfielder John Galvin says there is no need to panic.

“There is no need to panic. We have an awful lot of improving to do yet. We have had a lot of injuries to deal with and some players have not had enough game time. With eight weeks left to championship all our minds will be focussed on the remaining league games and of course the return fixture against Waterford in May.”
Limerick face Fermanagh this Sunday in Fermanagh. The northern side, coached by Tyrone All Ireland winner Peter Canavan are unbeaten in the league this season. Galvin is only looking at Limerick though at the moment.
“Fermanagh seem to be pretty good. They are going very well. It is going to be a tough ask to beat them up there. Even though we lost last weekend there were some positives. We need to work a little harder on defence to make sure the good work being done by our forward is not in vain. The long trip will be tough on the team. There is no real down time. It is all very structured and organised and allows us to be focussed and ready come game time”
With Johnny McCarthy still a doubt for this weekend. Pressure for scores will once more be on Ger Collins and Ian Ryan who are operating well as a two man full forward line.
With Galvin returning to form and fitness, Limerick should give a good account of themselves this weekend in Brewster Park.
