Man charged with possession of meat cleaver

Remanded on continuing bail
A MAN who was charged with the alleged possession of a meat clever last July, contrary to Section 11 of the Firearms and Offensive weapons Act has been remanded on continuing bail in the matter until next September.

19-year-old Matthew Ward, with an address at Craeval Park, Moyross was charged with the offence dating back to July 17 and an adjournment to next September 12 was sought by his solicitor as a pending Circuit Court matter is to be dealt with first.  A charge under the Control of Horses act dating back to January 6 last was also before the Court and adjourned simplicitor to run with meat clever charge.  Judge Eamon O’Brien agreed to the application and a date was set for hearing both matters later in the year.
