Dundon brothers sentenced on threats to kill

TWO Limerick brothers convicted of threatening to kill members of April Collins’ family were sentenced by the three judge Special Criminal Court in Dublin this Wednesday.
Wayne Dundon, 33, of Lenihan Avenue and John Dundon, 30, of Hyde Avenue, had denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to making threats against four members of the Collins family in 2010 and 2011 and charges of intimidating witnesses.

However, last month they were found guilty of a number of charges before the court.
At the CCJ in Dublin, Wayne Dundon was sentenced to six years in prison on the threat to kill charges.
His brother, John, was sentenced to five and a half years.
It was ruled that the victim impact statements were not to be read in court.
Both were returned to high security prisons in the Midlands and Dublin.
