Polish man living in Limerick receives award from HRH The Princess Royal

A FATHER of two from Clarina in Co. Limerick has been recognised for his vocational accomplishments by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal and the Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers at Buckingham Palace.

Lukasz Nalaskowski, originally from Poland but living in Limerick since 2005, received this prestigious honour in London last week upon completion of a City & Guilds Certificate in Computer Aided Engineering from the FÁS training centre in Limerick.

It is the first time that the Princess Royal has presented the awards. Every year, the Company of Tin Plate Workers rewards outstanding City & Guilds learners for their achievements.

Lukasz, although not from an engineering background, has been able to produce excellent, quality parts using three completely different machine controllers and programming languages which is an extremely high achievement on a training course of this duration. He strives for a very high standard in all his work and has shown great ability as a problem solver and team member. Lukasz was also the deserved recipient of a City & Guilds Medals for Excellence last month, one of only three people in Ireland to be awarded the accolade in 2012.
