Mega concert for very special children

AN upcoming event that very many children throughout Ireland are looking forward to is a combined concert and party that the Share a Dream Foundation will host in the RDS Concert Hall on Saturday, August 25. To celebrate 22 years of “making dreams come true” for sick and disabled children, the national charity, with the support of the RDS in Dublin, will host the party and concert for over 1,000 children.

“All children, no matter what their physical capability have the right to play and have fun but not all children are so lucky,” says a spokesperson for the charity.
“The sad reality is that so many of Ireland’s beautiful children are denied this basic right and the very simplest of pleasure that our healthy children may take for granted, because of their terrible illness and disabilities.
“Due to a lack of facilities these children and their families are denied the exciting opportunity to go to a real concert and enjoy once in a lifetime memories with their brothers and sisters, but Share a Dream wants to correct this and if they can’t go to an established concert, then we are going to create a unique one for them”.
Promising a “fantastic day” for all the children and their families who attend, the Share a Dream Foundation’s founder, Shay Kinsella, says the concert will be hosed by Spin FM’s Nikki Hayes and will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Naoise O Muiri.
“The concert line-up will include Limerick’s well known Hermitage Green and other acts including, Boyband Concept, The Reverse, Underground, Project 57 plus the Army, the Air Corps, the Gardaí, the Fire Brigade, face painters, magicians, puppet shows and so much more joining in on the day.
“We just want these kids to have a day to remember and the best thing is that it’s completely free,” concluded Shay.
