AN attempted armed robbery at a barber shop in Corbally last Thursday morningย is under investigation by gardaรญ at Mary Street in Limerick.
The incident took place at 10.50am when a man armed with what appeared to be a handgun entered the barber shop ย on the Corbally Road and demanded money but left empty-handed.
The culprit was described as being about 5โ 7โ in height, of stocky build with a Limerick accent. He was wearing a dark green hoody, jeans, white runners and was also wearing green gloves. He ย escaped in a silver Volvo S40 which was later recovered at Blackwater in Ardnacrusha.
Gardaรญ at Mary Street are investigating and anyone who was in the vicinity of Corbally Road between 10.30am and 11.15am last Thursday morning or who has any information about the movements of the silver Volvo S40 which had a 00-MH registration should contact them.

Ardnacrusha Gardai are investigating a theft at a shop near Barryโs Cross on Sunday October 7ย when a man with a motor cycle helmet entered through a rear door and took a large sum of cash from a safe in an upstairs office. He walked across the road to a waiting motor cycle which was being driven by an accomplice.
The culprit was described as being between 5โ 8โ and 5โ10โ in height, medium build with a black coat, a woolly hat and blue jeans.ย It is believed that the motorcycle then drove in the direction of Limerick city.
