Dodging the bug

The HSE has asked the public to help contain outbreaks of the winter vomiting bug by taking precautions to protect their health and to adhere strictly to visiting restrictions and hygiene guidelines when visiting nursing homes, hospitals and health services. To reduce the likelihood of spreading the bug, people are asked not to visit hospitals or nursing homes within 48 hours of being unwell, and not to send a child to school or creche until they have been well for 48 hours.

People who are sick should remain out of work until they have been well for 48 hours.
