LIMERICK’S connections with Chicago, Illnois, were broadcast on the Chinanigans podcast.
The podcast’s hosts, Chicago-born Caroline Cunningham and Limerick native Mike Flannery, travelled to the Treaty City to explore the Limerick-Chicago connections through sport, culture, music, and community.
Guests on the episode included Hermitage Green’s Barry Murphy, Noel Earley, Walter Shanahan, Pat and Bernie Hartigan, Ciaran Carey, and John ‘Pako’ Fitzgerald.
Caroline Cunningham, whose father is from Castlegregory, County Kerry, joked that after spending time in Limerick and hearing stories from local sporting figures, her “loyalties may have shifted slightly toward Limerick”.
The episode was recorded in Patsy Nicholas’ pub in Limerick City. The podcast team also visited Adare where they spent time with horse racing mogul and billionaire JP McManus.
