Mary I move into Fitzgibbon semi-finals

-

MARY Immaculate College booked their place in the semi-finals of the Fitzgibbon Cup after a 1-18 to 0-15 win over DIT in Coolock this afternoon.

DIT had beaten UL in the group stage of the competition but they couldn’t make it a double Limerick scalp as Mary I now advance to the finals weekend in GMIT on March 1 and 2.

Limerick’s two other Fitzgibbon Cup teams are in quarter-final action tomorrow. UL face a tricky tie away to UCD while LIT will hope to beat WIT in Carriganore and avenge their defeat in the classic 2008 final.

Both of tomorrow’s games throw in at 2:30pm.
