Centra Hurling Skills Camp

Last Saturday 120 children attended Centra’s family community event in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, to catch a glimpse of their county hero, Declan Hannon. Limerick’s star forward came together with Tipperary legend, Eoin Kelly to give young aspiring hurlers from local clubs the chance to showcase their hurling skills.

Following his recent heroic exploits, in helping Limerick reach the upcoming All-Ireland semi-final against Clare, Declan Hannon was the star attraction on the day. Children lined up in their droves waiting for his autograph and the opportunity to talk to their idol, who stayed until all the children had their turn. The children aged between five and twelve came from numerous local clubs to brush up their skills with the hurling stars, as well as enjoying a great family day out. The skills session was followed by a delicious BBQ and a host of entertainment including face painting, a hurling simulator to test their hurling skills, music, prizes and much more.

The Limerick event was supported by local Centra retailers; Leonard’s Centra Cappamore, Regan’s Centra Pallas Green, Rodahan Centra Ennis Road, Ryan’s Centra Raheen, Ryan’s Centra Lower William Street, O’Flynn’s Centra Upper William Street, Hodkinson’s Centra Patrickswell, Casey’s Centra Limerick, Ryan’s Centra O’Connell Street, Walsh’s Centra Dooradoyle, Reidy’s Centra Foynes, Rodahan’s Centra Woodview, Chawke’s Centra Castletroy, Ryan and Hanley’s Centra Askeaton, O’Sullivan’s Centra Clarina, Riordan’s Centra Kilmallock, Lohan’s Centra Adare, Garvey’s Centra Newcastlewest, Sheehy’s Centra Kilfinnane, O’Sullivan’s Centra Hospital, O’Flynn’s Centra Bruff.
