UPDATE – The body of a man in his 30s was found following a major search at the county Clare seaside resort of Kilkee.

Last week, a major search operation got underway in Kilkee after a Limerick man was reported missing.

The search was launched after a car entered the water at Byrns Cove in the popular West Clare seaside village frequented by many holiday makers from Limerick shortly before 1am last Thursday morning.

Units from the local Coast Guard including navy divers and Emergency services as well as the Shannon rescue helicopter were all scrambled to the scene after the vehicle was been spotted upside-down in the water.
